We've been running NBA2k22 and NFL Madden22 free play brackets at the Minnie Lee Davis Harris Recreation Center, situated at 2020 NE 14th Street Winston-Salem, NC 27105, in partnership with Bank$hotGG and WS Parks & Rec.
What began as a one-off NBA2K competition to test our setup and production methods has evolved into a biweekly community esports night where we can not only check who's who on the sticks, but also teach young players about the various aspects of sportsmanship, live streaming and event production.
Since starting this series in February we've seen 75 grade school students, streamed 18hrs of content, with 57hrs watched.
When: Every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month.
Time: 6-8pm (set up starts at 5:30)
Where: Minnie Lee Davis Harris Recreation Center,

On 10/2/21 we hosted our first in-person tournament and it was, I dare say, a smash hit. We had 48 (of 48) competitors plus a couple spectators and a handful of crew members from 4 different states that came to little ole Winston Salem to compete for crown and cash. Bracket play and IRL side events took place at Mixxer Maker Space. With an open floor plan, modular tables, outlets and cables everywhere, and a solid internet connection it was the perfect space to host our first local event. Bracket play started at 6 and the grand finals wrapped up at 9:15. We had a room with extra stations set up for friendlies and the IRL side event was a CRT TV smash. Around 8:00pm one of our main TO's, Paul started taking set-ups over to Radar Brewing Company for continued friendlies at the after party. No after party would be complete without live music and the young local rock band ZiNC put on one hell of a show.
We also managed to throw together one of our more elaborate twitch streams utilizing old tech and new. I'm still editing down the live stream vod to post the matches up on our YouTube Channel. Here's a direct link to that YouTube Play List.
Some new elements we brought to an old tournament style - Handmade wooden event badges instead of laminated paper and handmade top 5 awards that were custom engraved with the winners names on the spot at Mixxer Maker Space.
The ONE. The ONLY.... Aelianas Vagrantiiiiiiiaaaaaaa!♡ VTuber, Twitch Streamer, and exceedingly talented EDM Artist! We're lucky to have Aeli as part of our gaming community! The more diverse our community base, the more worlds we can explore together.
The man the myth the ledgend... Kodi Frost, a.k.a. KoDeXx, and we invite you to visit the KoDeXx Gaming Channel! Kodi was born with a Nintendo Zapper in his hand, and has been plugged into Video Games ever since. We're thankful to have Kodi and his entertaining game streams in our area!

I got an incredible opportunity to be a feature finalist on David Meltzer's new business pitch TV show, 2 Minute Drill.
here were 6 business pitches per recording session, 4 make the TV cut, 1 person wins $50k in cash and prizes. Unfortunately, my pitch didn't make the TV cut and you guessed it, I didn't win my episode either. Ohwell!
Though you won't get to see me on national TV you can see my pitch and the whole (self directors cut) experience here because I threw up a cheap flip cam to record the whole process thinking there might be an educational nugget or two that I could dig out later.
What did you guys think of my pitch?
Here's a link to the episode I just missed out on - https://youtu.be/gvIif4RSpHs
This was such a cool opportunity and I'm slowly tracking down all the sponsors to thank them for helping make this possible. Next Game... We'll see you in the que!
I was recently selected to be on a new business pitch show called the 2min Drill w/ David Meltzer where I had the opportunity to pitch our vision for what we want to build for our Winston-Salem (and beyond?) gaming community.
1st place is set to win $50K in cash and prizes from participating sponsors and brand partnerships. The other participating contestants will receive consolation prizes. I'm not sure what any of the other prizes are yet, but we'll see!
I don't want to spoil the show with results so you'll have to tune in via Amazon Prime/Bloomberg TV in January 2021 and watch the episode. I did really well ;)
The vision is to ultimately assemble an esports arena that will also serve as a multimedia production studio for local gamers and artists to serve as a home base for community events, content creation, and elite level gaming.
I believe that eSports will be THE next global sport and family activity! Gaming and creation are super inclusive and empowering but access hurdles still exist due to high cost of equipment. My 2min pitch outlined that grand vision and I threw in some bullet point steps on how we're going to take to bring this idea into reality.
